A question on Sinus and Migrane headache pain?
29.November, 2008
basically i got this pain on my left side of skull, which kicks off the pain on left side of neck along with left ear & eye ache sometimes. Sometime it happens on right aswell. i got ear infection and had sinus in past. Doctor wrote to hospital for CT scan. pain is achey and not pleasent, difficult to sleep.
Any suggestion?
I just had a whole day of PAIN just like you described. I read up on it a little bit today too…. and I actually think that we have CLUSTER Headaches. And because it effects the nasal cavity on the side of the headache, the neck, & ear, it is commonly mis- diagnosed as the sinus headache.
I tried some of my tried and true headache remedies - like the Goody's Headache Powder, & rubbing peppermint lotion on my head where the pain is.
But today it literally took some 10 hours before the headache let up.
I tend to get these headaches at night, and wake up with them. Does this happen to you? Also, I read that it may have to do with sleep apnea, where you stop breathing for a few minutes at a time, when sleeping. I do not know this is what is happening, but I tend to have a congested nose, and breath through my mouth a lot at night, and even during day notice how I hold my breath.
Just thought I would share what I have found… hope it helps.

Headache and pain in right eyelid?
26.November, 2008
What could this mean? Terrible headache and lots of pain in the right eyelid. Could it be allergies, sinus, or a migraine? What to do about it?
You may want to contact an ophthalmologist quickly. There is a type of glaucoma that is sudden onset that comes and goes. During this time pressure builds up rapidly in the eye and causes pain. I am not sure if you are feeling it in eyelid or if the actual eye is hurting. This is also usually accompanied by very acute headache. This type of glaucoma is very dangerous and can quickly lead to blindness. If the doctor tells you to go to emergency room so they can measure your eye pressure and bring it down if necessary, I highly recommend that you do so. It probably is nothing as serious as this, but better safe than sorry. In sudden onset glaucoma attacks, there are risks of losing your eyesight.
It's nothing sinister - just one of those dragging headaches that some of us lucky folk get from time to time.
No matter how much panadol I gobble it won't budge.
I'm miserable 8-(
Any advice?
Thanks ausblue - here's hoping we don't get the latest flu strain - nasty stuff!
You poor thing!
No i can't help unless it's an allergy.
sometimes if i change my washing powder shampoo soap etc or perfume creams etc or just dust in the air or smoke i can get a headache & i if wash my hair or get rid of the shampoo etc
bingo it goes instantly!!
you may have the flu also the last one i had that was really the only main thing that was wrong ( a niggly headache on & off) & a little sniffle
all the best xx
How do I get rid of this neck pain and headache?
22.November, 2008
For the past few days I have been suffering from upper neck pains on the right side and this annoying headache. I first thought it was to do with “the monthly thing” but those headaches usually go away with sleep. This one wont. Then i thought it could be my pillow so i switched it and last night it was fine. But tonight the pain is back. Its driving me insane! Does anyone have any ideas how to get rid of both the neck pain and the headache and fast???? It hurts!!!
Sorry to hear that you are suffering from a headache and neck pain. I have a few suggestions to help you:
1) Ice your neck- this will help to reduce inflammation and give you some pain relief in your neck. Ice can be very soothing by providing an analgesic effect.
2) Neck Excercises will help to loosen up the neck muscles and increase your range of motion.
3) There is a newer product called the Halo Rejuvenator - that is made specifically for headache sufferers. The Halo works by increasing the blood supply to the affected areas (to the head and neck), strengthening the neck muscles and naturally enhancing spinal alignment. Check it out here: http://www.arc4life.com/site/615058/product/HaloPxReliever
4)Finally, get youself a good cervical neck pillow- this is very important for making sure that your head and neck are aligned properly when you are sleeping at night.
Good luck I hope this helps you out-
It starts in the back of the neck and forehead and feel very tight. Then from the forehead it travels down to the face and nose. Are these two separate headaches such ans a sinus and tension? I have sinus congestion as well so it's making it very difficult to figure out.
Nerves are connected internally. If your problem is connected to acidity, it is natural. You have sinus problem and face and forehead are not far away.
There is no medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.
Acidity, WORRY, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation;
Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.
Acupuncture is the best treatment. I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.
Avoid late sleeping if possible;spicy, sour, stale bakery foods and alcohole.
Sweet foods, COCOANUT WATER,sweet fruits, milk, rice, SPROUTS, SALADS and good sleep will help you.
But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it isvery strong.
If it is acute pl search a painful point 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds.

Is chest pain, headache and red eyes a symptom to expect with a new blood pressure med. ?
16.November, 2008
Currently I am taking Micardis 80mg,Dilitiazem er 180mg,lisinopril hct 20/12.5mg and I was taking Toprol xl 200mg and just three days ago my doc took me of the toprol and started me on a new med. by the name of Coreg 12.5mg to take two times a day. With the change in med I have had bad headaches and chest pain along with red eyes and I dont know if this is somthing to be expected until the med get into my system or if it could be somekind of reaction.
I don't think that is right and I would call him right away. Sometimes you have to try 5 different meds before you find what works for you. Headaches are a sign of high blood pressure. My husband takes Hyzar and I think he needs something else. He has been having frequent nose bleeds. Call your doctor right away or go to an ER. Chest pain should never be a side effect, if those were normal your doctor should have told you that.
