I am a migraine sufferer-once a month mostly but sometimes 2 or 3. In the past I have used Excederin Migraine with great results…but you can only take 2 caplets a day and it causes some discomfort in the GI tract. What OTC meds work best for your migraines?
You should really talk with your doctor, and consider Topamox (prescription). My friend was having frequent migraines, but once she worked out the right dosage of Topamox, she's been migraine-free.
Also look into bio-feedback and eliminating the usual culprits that can cause or aggravate your migraines. I had terrible migraines as a child, but a little bio-feedback (and later, chiropractic) helped me head off of eliminate almost all of them.

Excedrin Migraine works the best for me too and also does the same to my stomach. If you cut down to one, it helps. Also, eat a little with it so it doesn't burn your stomach. I have tried Advil Migraine with no luck, but my mother says it works for her??

what works best for me is to take a Tylenol and take a 20 min. nap but no longer or you will be tired all day.

For me sleep is the best medicine for a migraine. I have tried everything and find sleep is the only thing that works.

I agree w/ Teresa she's right go to a doctor. I'm on Topmax for Migraines and pretty much Migraine free. It took a while to get on the right dose but since then it been a breeze. I had to get off caffine also. That means chocolate and coffee etc.

If you really have a true migraine then none of the over the counter meds will really work. If your taking Tylenol or advil for a headache it is more than likely not a migraine.
My opinion is that you should see a doctor. I have tried pretty much every migraine drug there is and the only one that works for me is Midrin with lots of water. Imitrex is a very popular medicine which works for a lot of migrain sufferers but it doesn't really agree with me.
